Maths

 

Reception will be provided with a Maths homework activity booklet to complete.  These will be sent home once a unit of work has been completed. 

Year 1, 2 and 3 will be provided with homework sheets each Friday, which will consolidate the week's learning.  Homework needs to be returned by Wednesday the following week.

Years 4, 5 and 6 will bring home a homework book each Friday and teachers will inform you of the relevant pages to complete each week.  This will consolidate the week's learning. Homework needs to be returned by Wednesday the following week.

The video links below recap the learning from the classroom and can be used to support your child with these activities.  Once clicked on you will need to select your child's year group from the drop down box and select the term.

What can I find here? 

 

If your child is in Reception, or Years 1-2, log in to Active Learn to find your child's set work.  

Home reading e-books will be set by the class teacher each week, reflecting what has been read in their weekly guided session..  Books are set in line with the school’s reading scheme so your child will be able to continue practising reading at home.

Spelling

In years 1-6 weekly spelling sheets will be sent home on Fridays, consolidating the weeks phonics, common exception words and spelling patterns that have been taught.  Please return these the following Wednesday

Rapid recall of times table facts is key to success in maths.  Please encourage your child to practise little and often

Phonics

The children in reception and Year 1, have daily phonics sessions.  Their home reading books are aligned to their phonics abilities.  To find out more, watch the video below.
